Wages

If you’re looking to join the HVAC Sheet Metal Worker trade, wages depend on your progress through the 5-year apprenticeship. As of May 2026, the Journeyman rate is an average $50.32 per hour, with a total pension and benefit package averaging $74.02 per hour.

Total packages above include:

  • Pension (accessible at age 55)
  • Benefits package includes dental, vision, and health care/prescriptions

Overtime

All overtime shall be at double time for all hours worked outside of the normal workday except for shift work or irregular hours as defined in the Collective Agreement …Double Time for Statutory Holidays: New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day.

Vacation Pay

Vacation & Statutory holiday pay equal to 10% of the hourly wage is paid to the member on a weekly basis.
